“ MAKING SUCCESS STORIES HAPPEN ”

THE ROLE

Join our team as a Senior SSD Firmware Lead / Architect and help define the future of data storage. In this role, you will lead the architecture and development of firmware for industry-leading, proprietary solid-state storage modules that power high-performance platforms used by both enterprise and hyperscale customers.

You will work closely with hardware engineers, controller vendors, and systems teams to design firmware architecture, bring up new hardware platforms, and improve performance and reliability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Architecture & Strategy: Define and drive the firmware architecture for next-generation solid-state storage modules, including subsystem design, firmware modularization, and system integration.

  • Hardware Bring-Up: Work with controller vendors and hardware teams to bring up new SSD controller SoCs and enable features such as PCIe, NAND interfaces, power-loss protection, and telemetry.

  • Standards Compliance: Develop firmware components supporting NVMe and OCP SSD specifications, ensuring compliance, performance, and interoperability.

  • System Debug & Analysis: Debug complex cross-layer issues involving firmware, controller hardware, NAND media, and host systems.

  • Performance Optimization: Improve SSD data path performance and latency through advanced firmware design and analysis.

  • Technical Leadership: Review designs, mentor engineers, and improve development tools, testing methodologies, and automation frameworks.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • SSD Firmware Expertise: Extensive experience developing SSD firmware for enterprise or hyperscale systems, paired with strong knowledge of SSD architecture and controller design.

  • Industry Standards: Solid understanding of NVMe and OCP SSD specifications.

  • Embedded & HW/SW Interaction: Strong background in embedded firmware development and hardware-software interaction.

  • Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in C/C++, with experience using Python or other scripting languages for testing and automation.

  • Silicon & Bring-Up Experience: Hands-on experience with storage controller SoCs, including PCIe, DMA engines, NAND interfaces, and hardware bring-up.

  • Architectural & Debug Skills: Proven experience designing firmware architectures and debugging complex firmware and hardware issues.
