Thermal Manager / Assistant Manager
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Thermal Architecture & Technology Leadership
- Lead the architecture definition and conceptual design of next-generation immersion cooling and advanced liquid cooling solutions for AI/HPC platforms.
- Develop and execute long-term thermal management strategies and technology roadmaps aligned with future product and technology directions.
- Lead system-level CFD, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations while establishing standardized validation methodologies, testing procedures, and engineering best practices.
- Serve as the technical authority for complex thermal and fluid engineering challenges, driving innovative solutions for high-power-density computing systems.
System Mechanical Design & Product Development
- Lead the structural and functional design of highly integrated thermal modules, cooling components, and complete system-level solutions.
- Drive cross-functional Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives to optimize thermal performance, cost, manufacturability, reliability, and product quality.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, supplier, and program teams throughout the product lifecycle from concept, NPI, validation, and mass production.
- Translate customer requirements into scalable engineering solutions while balancing performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
Customer & Cross-functional Leadership
- Act as the primary technical interface for strategic customers and key stakeholders.
- Lead customer technical reviews, design discussions, product qualification, and issue resolution.
- Present engineering proposals, design reviews, and technical recommendations to customers, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams.
Engineering Excellence & Team Development
- Mentor and develop thermal engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead design reviews (DR), technical risk assessments, and engineering decision-making throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Establish engineering standards, design guidelines, validation methodologies, and best practices to improve product quality and development efficiency.
- Drive continuous innovation in thermal technologies, cooling architectures, and engineering processes.
Qualifications
Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in liquid cooling, immersion cooling, thermal management, or related engineering fields.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex hardware products from concept development through NPI to Mass Production (MP).
- Experience developing thermal solutions for AI servers, HPC systems, data centers, or high-power computing platforms is highly preferred.
Technical Expertise
- Deep expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and thermal system design.
- Hands-on experience with advanced CFD/FEA simulation tools such as ANSYS Fluent, Icepak, FloTHERM, COMSOL, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of system-level thermal architecture, cooling technologies, and high-power-density server applications.
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD design tools such as SolidWorks or Onshape.
- Solid knowledge of DFM/DFA, tooling development, tolerance analysis, manufacturing processes, and product industrialization.
- Strong analytical capability with experience developing mathematical models, theoretical calculations, and performance prediction methodologies.
Leadership & Communication
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and complex product development programs.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to engineering teams, executive leadership, and Tier-1 customers.
- Experience leading customer-facing technical engagements, design reviews, and executive-level presentations is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with immersion cooling, direct liquid cooling (DLC), cold plate design, CDUs, or rack-level cooling solutions.
- Familiarity with AI server platforms, GPU systems, enterprise servers, or hyperscale data center infrastructure.
- Experience working with global ODM/OEM customers and international cross-functional engineering teams.
- Passion for innovation in sustainable cooling technologies and next-generation AI infrastructure.
