Manufacturing Site GM, USA (EMS & ODM)

Confidential Search – Our client, a global high-tech manufacturing company operating across 10+ countries, is establishing its flagship US manufacturing facility in Texas. We are seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial Manufacturing Site General Manager to lead this greenfield project from the ground up. This executive will be fully accountable for site setup, cross-functional leadership, operational excellence, and P&L performance to meet driving US customer demands. Language requirements: Bilingual (English and Mandarin). US passport holder preferred. Currently reside or ability to relocate to Texas. 
 
Roles & Responsibilities: 

• Greenfield Site Setup & Leadership: Plan, build, and launch the company’s first US manufacturing facility. Build multi-disciplinary teams from scratch across Operations, Facilities, Engineering, NPI, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Fulfillment. 
• P&L & Operational Governance: Hold complete accountability for the US site’s P&L, budget execution, capital planning, and cost-out strategies. 
• Operational Excellence: Establish and optimize best-in-class manufacturing processes, quality systems, and engineering workflows. Drive a continuous improvement culture focused on cost reduction, on-time delivery, and product quality. 
• Strategic Client Interfacing: Serve as the primary US executive interface for key customers, aligning site operations with business targets and delivery commitments. 
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with global executive leaders to drive organizational efficiency, process standardization, and business expansion. 

 
Desired Profile:

• Industry Experience: 15–30 years of combined experience spanning production, engineering, quality, and comprehensive site management within large-scale electronics manufacturing (system-level manufacturing preferred). 
• US Leadership Track Record: Mandatory hands-on experience managing local manufacturing workforces and leadership teams within the United States. 
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: High adaptability, willing to "roll up sleeves" in a fast-paced environment to build infrastructure and capability from scratch. 
• Technical & Business Acumen: Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiencies, quality improvements, P&L growth, and cost savings. 
• Education & Languages: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred. Full working proficiency in both Mandarin and English is required.
